What is Diethyl Ether?
Diethyl ether is a very flammable chemical that was once used as a surgical anesthetic. It is produced in the presence of sulfuric acid, by the process of dehydration of ethanol. Today, it is used for the manufacture of gunpowder and a solvent for other chemicals.
